Acknowledge and Advocate:
- Despite billions of dollars and decades of recovery efforts, Snake River salmon and other anadromous populations and the Southern Resident Orcas continue to decline to extinction levels and that time is running out to restore and protect them.
- The decline, extirpation and absolute extinction of the Snake River salmon violates Treaty rights of the Northwest Tribes and Nations, and severely jeopardizes their economic well-being and cultural continuity.
- The inherent right to exist and to flourish should be afforded all beings and the ecosystems upon which they depend for survival.
- These same, not just for and of the Snake River, but that other rivers and other critical habitats and ecosystems that are threatened or endangered including the likes of Mississippi River (Line #3), Missouri River (DAPL), Maine’s Salmon rivers (adversely impacted by dams as well) and many others.
