Featured Speaker Dan Kovalik

Sunday May 3, 3 – 4:30 pm.  Register for Zoom webinar here.

Dan Kovalik is a professor of international human rights at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and the author of several books, including Plot to Overthrow Venezuela: How the US Is Orchestrating a Coup for Oil and No More War: How the West Violates International Law by Using ‘Humanitarian’ Intervention to Advance Economic and Strategic Interests.  He will be speaking about the detrimental impact of US sanctions, especially in Iran and Venezuela, as countries facing the brunt of US aggression struggle to acquire medicine and equipment necessary to fight COVID-19.  At a time when the world needs international solidarity more than ever, the US is instead, according to Kovalik, “weaponizing the virus” to further punish countries such as Iran and Venezuela for refusing to bow to the US regime. Kovalik is calling for “an immediate change in course before more lives are lost due to our nation’s folly.”

Please join this Zoom meeting to learn more about the impacts of US foreign policy in the time of COVID-19, reflect upon what actions we can take to prevent further loss of life, and organize ourselves across Washington and Oregon to promote government that respects humane international law and serves the well being of ourselves and our neighbors instead of the voracious demands to exploit and dominate.
