At the JUUstice Summit on October 20, 2018, 15 participants discussed Climate Justice. After opening readings from sayings by Native Americans, the group reviewed some of the findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that apply to climate justice. Participants discussed data on the trends of temperatures, and the need to bend the curves down, followed with discussion of UU work on climate justice. We discussed role of the UUSC (Service Committee) in mobilizing Pacific Warriors from the islands threatened by climate change, and the participation of UUs in Juliana vs. the U.S., the court case of youth against the government.
