December 30, 2019 by webmaster Leave a Comment

Sweet Honey and the Rock will be performing at the Mt. Baker Theater In Bellingham on January 17, 2020.
Unitarian Universalist Dr. Ysaye Barnwell, composer and singer, and former member of Sweet Honey, wrote the group’s piece “Breaths” that is in our UU Singing the Journey Song hymnal.  She was also featured in UU World Magazine  https://www.uuworld.org/articles/ysaye-barnwell-songs
Although Ysaye is no longer a member of the group, the group is ” internationally renowned a cappella ensemble, has been a vital and innovative presence in both music and communities of conscience around the world. Sweet Honey’s soulful collective voice delivers the sacred music of the black church, the clarion calls of the civil rights movement, and songs of the struggle for justice everywhere.”
It’s a performance not to be missed!
