We are reaching out to all congregations in Washington State to identify the social justice work they are currently engaged in, where they would like to expand their efforts, and what is needed for the work ahead. We encourage ministers, board presidents and justice advocates to reach out to us to schedule times to connect and organize.
We believe that effective justice work is collective liberation, meaning we form relationships with those most impacted by the issues that concern us. We also believe direct work or volunteering can bring us into these relationships. Direct action and protest work can mobilize us. We educate ourselves about justice issues, act at local, state and national levels against harmful legislation, and we financially support those who are already doing the work.
If your congregation has a team or would like to build one, contact Rev. Nancy Reid-McKee.
JUUstice Washington has purchased the license for the Trans Inclusion in Congregations course curriculum. For those congregations who will have 3 or less people who want to attend, JUUstWA will offer the course as an inter-congregational program. Those congregations who have more than 3 people who want to participate, please check in with Transforming Hearts Collective to make the necessary arrangements. The Collective also has other training and educational resources you can tap into.
If you’re interested in attending the Trans Inclusion training, please contact either Rev. Nancy Reid-Mckee or Deb Cruz.
