The Yes to EKC PUD (East King County Public Utility District) Coalition Building team, for the Yes to East King County PUD campaign, is currently collecting signatures to get a measure on the ballot in November to replace Puget Sound Energy (PSE) with a public utility district (PUD) in northeast King County.
We are in the process of reaching out to potential partner organizations with the goal of building a strong campaign for an East King County Public Electrical Utility District. We believe, in addition to creating the opportunity to transition faster to a cleaner electrical utility district (PSE’s fuel mix is ~60% fossil fuels, while PUDs around the state only use about 8% fossil fuel to generate electricity), having local control over our local power will be good for our region.
Please let us know if we could schedule a phone call or in-person/zoom meeting to talk more about the campaign with your organization. Or, if you are already on board, thank you. I will forward you a form to indicate the level of the involvement you would like to have with the Yes to EKC PUD campaign.
And, to support the Yes to EKC PUD campaign right now, while following distant socializing recommendations, you can help us gather signatures by letting your members know that they can download, print, and sign petitions directly from our website. If anyone does not have a printer or legal-sized paper, they can also request petitions to be mailed to them. The address to mail in signed petitions is on our website. Thank YOU!!!
